I did this mistake on thursday night, let me tell you the reason why I hate this dance-bar now.

I usually go to the best club in town which is called Babenberger Passage. As I hang out alone most of my time at nights, I decided to check this Floridita.

I went to the Floridita and gave my belongings to the cloakroom attendant. After a while, I suddenly realized that my handy is also in the pocket of my belonging which I had given to the cloakroom.

I went to the cloakroom and showed my cloakroom ticket. The attendant told me, that he cannot bring my belongings for my handy (!). He told me there is only two possibilities: I give my belongings or I take them with me.(!)

Can you imagine this situation, you are in a dance bar, you forgot your handy in cloakroom (so in the pocket of your something) and you cannot take it from your pocket,even if you have cloakroom ticket in your hand!!!

I'd say such a loser bar-management!
If I was in Istanbul (in my hometown) in a club and someone behaved like this in the cloakroom, I would definitely call the manager and say the name of the cloakroom attendant in order to be fired out!
No way! The cloakroom attendant has no right to behave like this...

Please ignore this Floridita Dance Bar. I can suggest you Babenberger Passage which is for me the best .

I'm not completly sure that WienerBoris does exist and isn't a creation "a la Borat"....

I've been to Floridita scores of times. The people at the cloakroom are not always that friendly but they do a good job to protect your things against robery, they kept my laptop when I asked them to and rescued my jacket I abandoned on the floor one evening.
Customer friendliness does not best defined Austrian employees in general, so if you fire them each time they are unfriendly, you will probably paralysed the economy.

Floridita has a mixed crowd and sometimes is a bit too much of a meat market. But at least you're sure it will be packed with people who have fun dancing. I've tried other clubs in Wien and always had the feeling they were half empty and people were not spontaneous...

Chances are good that employees at Floridita, as average human beings, react to the customer they have in front of them. Next time, try with charm.

Also, I'm not paying 10EUR or 13EUR entrance fee on weekends to go to the passage.

Yeah, that's what's good about latin clubs... I've also heard they are working on a new dance now called Penetrada:

Passage is full of Viennese trustafarian trash and over-priced - not my scene... Would imagine that the staff might under specific orders to not allow people to get their coats back to retrieve property to avoid people attaching extra scarves, gloves etc. to their coats to avoid paying for a second hanger. Cloakroom staff have a thankless, dull and badly-paid job - the last thing they want is any added hassle.

I didn't abuse anyone - those other guys called her "not nice" which is more of the abuse than my attempt to explain why she was abusing that guy ;-)...

damn I always, always miss the posts before they get removed. couldn't we have a thread where you can find them again. for educational purposes of course.
