I drink Unsweetened Cocoa for the anti-oxidants.
Until now, I've been drinking imported Cadbury's Bournville, because I know it is not Dutch process (a treatment with alkali to make the cocoa more soluable, which unfortunately destroys the anti-oxidants!)
Unfortunately, Cadbury's is quite expensive here. About 3.50 for a 125g tin at Bobby's, which is about double what it costs in England. Anyway, Austrians make fine Chocolate, so I'd love to try some local Cocoa!
Therefore, I would like to find a good local replacement. Does anyone know of any cheaper unsweetened Cocoa Powder available in Vienna which is definately not Dutch Process? If so, where I can buy it here?

Failing that, ask at any health food shop.

Not sure if it's cheap but there is a specialist cocoa/chocolate shop in the passage Palais Ferstel in the 1st District - sells everything cocoa from all round the world

Actually, when I googled it, it seems to be Dutch Process...hence, the Dutch Girl on the front, Iconically denoting this fact...

Please don't! Any reference to your nationality is purely incidental and unavoidable!
I assume that this method was invented in the Netherlands, hence the name. It just happens that processing with Alkali does not preserve the medicinal qualities of the Cocoa. Aside from that, I've no reason to reject it on nationalistic grounds.

whereshome, I saw some today at a Turkish grocery store. It didn't say it was dutch processed or not, but if you have a Turkish shop in your neighbourhood it might be worth checking out.
Now...has anyone ever heard of purple yam powder?
I'm looking for some. It's used in asian desserts mostly. Alternatively, does anyone know any asian or Indian grocery stores where I might have some luck?

You could always try at Grand Whisky (www.grandwhisky.at) although their chocolate and cocoa products are at the luxury end of the price range!

If you have no luck finding it, I can bring some back with me from China next time I visit.
