Online name: VerryBerry

Where from originally: Russki by origin, cocktail by upbringing and a world citizen at heart

How long in Vienna: a good 27 years with a 6-year break of living in London 2003-2009.

Why in Vienna:  I guess when you are 5 yrs old – you got no choice where you move because of your parents’ job (not that I have anything to complain about with regards to Vienna!). However, when you are 29, have lived in Vienna for most of your life and then moved to another place (in my case – London), you realize that nothing compares to the best-quality-of-life city in the world called Vienna… you make the conscious choice and move back to this fab city, which I can proudly call HOME! :)

Interests: languages, movies, horse riding, oil painting, occasionally going to an ice-hockey game (Go Vienna Capitals!!!), drawing, shopping (yes, yes, I know… I’m such a girl…), travelling and I generally truly believe that it is never too late to acquire new hobbies!

What else you should know about me: I enjoy good wine and beer, good food, great people and trying new things such as restaurants, places, fun activities, new shoes… new bags… the sales season.. err.. right, back to the subject: I happen to think that life is far too short to always stay in one place, so I have a rule of traveling to at least 1 new place a year, but generally travel every few months. My family is spread around the world (literally: USA, Russia and Macedonia, with me in Vienna). I love languages (currently looking forward to starting my Japanese course in March). I try to live by a very simple rule: I don’t want to die regretting that I haven’t done something I wanted to do, so if there is something I really want to do and have the opportunity to do it at that very moment, I tend to give it a go!

Favourite places to go out in Vienna: Donaupark, Frank’s, Haus des Meeres, Lobau, Artis, Mühlwasser, El Pulpo, Albertina, Schönbrunner Zoo, Schönbrunnpark, Rathaus – for several festivals/events/activities, Kuchldragoner (aka Ronny’s), Cobenzl and of course, my personal Mecca – the Swarovski flagship store on Kärnterstrasse...
