New Rules for Site Users

Dear Vienna Expat members!

The Vienna Expats website and forum have been running for 5 years now, and we think we can say quite successfully so. We have over 2,500 members, and new users register almost on a daily basis.

With so many users reading the forum, and replying to topics, the moderators have decided that we need to be a little stricter when users cross certain lines with their posts. For this reason, we have created a list (see below) of possible offences that might upset or offend users of this forum. With this list it will be easier for the moderators (and the forum users) to decide when posts are out of order.

List of offences:
Multiple cross-posting
Unsolicited advertising
Inappropriate photographic content
Promotion of nefarious or subversive activity
Overtly racist, sexist, homophobic, or anti-religious content
Incitement to hatred
The excessive use of swear words and/or swear words directed at other members
Personal insults/attacks
Unfriendly replies to newbies
Spam posts

Users will receive a warning for each transgression. After 3 warnings he/she will be banned for a certain period of time (this can vary from 1 week to permanently, based on the severity of the offence and will be decided upon by several members of the moderator team).
