Gym in Vienna with big dumbbells?
Hi
does anyone know a gym with dumbbells that are heavier than 40kg?
McFit goes up to 40
ISC 40
City fitness c.42
AktivCenter 30
Bodystyle 32.5 gets a special mention for refusing to let me see the gym until the salesman explained that one can only cancel a contract on two dates in the year. and then trying to explain how the most important thing is to feel comfortable in a gym. all this to a guy that needs to wear weight plates when doing pullups. Unsurprisingly this gym was full of women on the cardio machines and the odd metrosexual...

Re: Gym in Vienna with big dumbbells?
In case anyone else is interested in a serious gym I found Fit Inn in 5
http://fitinn.at/
from this excellent (german) list
http://www.wien-konkret.at/sport/fitnesscenter/
Not only does it have dumbbells up to 50kg
but it has every kind of machine possible
and is only 20 Euro a month!!!
So cheap I nearly coughed out my supplements
Probably why it was packed with men trying to beef up and women tryng to slim down
McFit is the same price but charging for a shower is bit excessive. And the Mariahilferstr gym is up 4 flights of stairs
For serious roid heads German forums are saying the place is Top Gym. In fact there are a few others and they are clustered in the north east outer suburbs
The list above also has a VERY funny video of a very hot babe moaning for about 10 minutes

I should say that Fitinn is definitely not for women. Noisy, ugly, often smoky, full of teenagers and immature people and the certain part of viennese society that hassle women.

I disagree. The Fit Inn at Hartmangasse is definitely for women......the huge exterior actually has a separate gym inside for women only! The door has a sign with Damenbereich on it. I thought this was the ladies changing room and I only realised what it was when one day someone opened the door and I saw all the exercise machines inside
There's also been no smoking in the 6 months I've been going
The equipment is excellent. The only niggle is that they are always playing sports videos instead of the video that goes wth the music that they play.
A lot of guys show up in pairs and "help each other" but they are mostly discreet and you probably won't notice much if you are concentrating on your program
