Okay, so there's one more opportunity for die-hard football fans to gather together and watch a game this season, and this one's a doozy! A rematch of the 2008 showdown between the Pats and Giants, Super Bowl 46 needs little hyperbole to sell it...

I'll be watching at Pointers again this year. I have a table reserved in the non-smoking area, but it's pretty much full up already with guests. If anyone else is planning on attending, either book yourself a table in the area of your choice or let me know on here that you'd like to attend and I'll see about possibly increasing our reservation. SERIOUS attendees only with regards to that last offer, please.

As with most Super Bowl gatherings in Vienna, there is a buy-in. Ticket prices for this year's event will be 22 Euro, and should be purchased in advance. Last year they were sold out and it was pretty full by game time. Again, it will be an all-nighter, so if you're planning on joining us, please think ahead and take the next day off of work and/or inform your spouse that you'll be out until the trains start up again in the morning...

Oh, and regarding the ticket - there are a number of "items" which are included in that price:

Free drink of choice upon arrival
Free cheeseburger of choice
Free beer at kickoff
Free "square" in their Super Bowl grid, with cash prizes throughout the night (limited, I believe, to the first 100 tickets sold)
During the game, free coffee, tea and popcorn are provided

The bar is open at 6 on Sundays. There will also be an NFL trivia quiz at 8:30 pm with a cash prize.

By way of an update, we're now a group of between 9 and 11, and are booking a second table (a good mix of Pats fans, Giants fans and "independents"). We can fit in another person or two if anyone else is wanting to join in...

I'm new here and am lookin for a good group of people to watch the game with... The stuff included for 22 euros sounds like a good deal... I'm a Raiders fan, so I guess I'd be considered an independent... What time is everyone planning on getting there? Is there any room left?

I'd suggest you swing by Pointers today - they might be close to selling out this close to the game.

Agreed. I'm not in close touch with those guys, but the interest tends to increase exponentially the closer we get to the game. I think we could squeeze one more in at our table, but that depends somewhat on how many "maybes" show up (this isn't the only place that I'm drumming up guests for my tables). Still, we'll figure out a spot for you if you can get a ticket...

And I'll be getting there by 8pm so that I can dominate the NFL trivia quiz at 8:30...
